St. Eustache - Organ Recital

MQ and her husband are experts on church organ music and when in Paris they frequently attend concerts.... most are held in churches around the city where the acoustics are amazing.... the one we attended at St. Eustache (the walk there provided us a view of different parts of the city) included acrobats who performed to some of the music.... we lovingly referred to the concert as the "Cirque de Church" Concert......

Market and Shops

From wine to cheese to flowers to vegetables.... the sights at the shops and markets of Paris are simply wonderful..... be sure to allow time just to wander through them, even if you are not intent on buying.....a "bonjour" to the shopkeeper if the shop is small is certainly appreciated..... the attention to detail makes each display a work of art!

Cruise on the Seine

We observed many boats during our day hikes near the Seine.... unfortunately our evening ride had rain.... the views were still spectacular.....

Apartment

We were lucky to be traveling with a frequent visitor to Paris........the apartment she found was very comfortable and had a wonderful location....

Roland Garros - The French Open

The facility was a metro ride from the apartment.... but when we first went, there were NO tickets to be found....
We enjoyed a brief walk around the facility peering in to see some warm ups taking place....

At first we satisfied ourselves with the HUGE TV screen set up in front of the Hotel De Ville... within sight of Notre Dame........ very enjoyable.....

But then a rain out during the finals caused them to postpone the end of the match until a Monday.... since many people planned to leave, I was able to find a ticket.....

Notice the empty stadium.... I was REALLY early, so no one stopped me from entering.... this photo was right before someone on the staff asked me to wait outside to re- enter in about another 1/2 hour.....

I've enjoyed seeing tennis at Wimbledon, Flushing Meadows and now here at Roland Garros....

Nadal.... the winner....

Iconic Paris Sights

Notre Dame
Giving credit to our guide and frequent resident..... she led us around the city expertly.... I think for only being there a week, we were able to see or visit MANY of the sites that I associate with Paris. We were extremely grateful for her expertise..... We used public transportation and walking... not one taxi that I recall.....
